There are a few things to keep in mind:
1. The grinding level
A medium-fine grind is ideal. This allows the water to flow slowly and evenly through the filter and gives it the time it needs to extract all the flavors from the coffee.
2. The water temperature and quality
The essential oils and aromatic substances do not tolerate excessive heat, so filter coffee should not be prepared with boiling water. A temperature between 92 °C and 96 °C is ideal. The water should also be filtered for unadulterated coffee enjoyment.
3. The brewing process
Distribute the coffee powder as evenly as possible in the filter. For 125 ml of water, use about 1 scoop of coffee (about 7-8 g of coffee powder).
Sources:
First, pour just enough water into the filter to cover the coffee powder by about 1 cm and let it soak for about 30 seconds. This step releases unwanted gases from the powder that were created during roasting and would prevent even extraction.
Pour in a circular motion:
Now pour the remaining water in circular movements from the inside to the outside. Make sure that all of the coffee powder is always covered with water, but not the edge of the filter, otherwise the water would run past the coffee into the pot.
