Recipe for delicious shortbread cookies
Ingredients for approx. 3 trays of cookies. For the dough: 450 g flour, 50 g cornstarch, 250 g butter, 160 g finest sugar, ¼ teaspoon baking powder, 1 pinch of salt, 2 eggs, 1 egg, of which the yolk is for brushing, 2 tablespoons milk for brushing
For decoration:
Dark couverture & chocolate / chocolate shavings
Step 1: Put all the ingredients for the dough in a mixing bowl and use the dough hook of the hand mixer to prepare a smooth shortcrust dough. Then put the dough in the cold for about an hour.
Step 2: Turn the chilled dough through the rotary grinder with a piping attachment and roll the dough in the opposite direction for an intensive structure. Form the pieces of dough into strips, wreaths or S-shaped pastries and place them on a tray lined with a baking mat.
Step 3: Whisk egg yolk and milk together and brush over the cookies, then bake until light in the preheated oven: Baking time: 10 - 12 minutes, temperature: 190°C (top/bottom heat)Tip: To decorate, dip cookies in couverture or chocolate and add Decorate with chocolate chips.
